Three campaigns that are focused on acquisition, retention and loyalty programs.

Starbucks: A targeted 8-day End of Summer email campaign for My Starbucks Rewards, one of the world’s most popular loyalty programs. The goal was to incentivize members to try new items at different times of the day by delivering emails with urgency, appetite appeal, and of course, bonus stars.

Hulu: A sampling of subscriber acquisition and retention emails. The creative challenge was continuing to find fresh and creative ways to encourage people to continue evolving their TV viewing habits.

Sprint: The longstanding relationship with the NBA was a gateway to build customer relationships at the height of the phone wars. Regular email drops were intended to engage audiences with exclusive content and offers.

Partner Bot Microsoft project: “What the hell are we supposed to do with all this information?”

The Microsoft AI-driven communications team had an undefined project. They didn’t know where to start and they certainly didn’t know how to see this through. They couldn’t find anybody whose professional background exactly matched their need that extended beyond merely content creation and management. Everything about this project was ambiguous, except the KPIs.And I helped the team deliver their stretch goal of  a +15 overall Net Satisfaction (NSAT) within first 30 days

The Microsoft Partner Bot is a virtual, personalized assistant. It sits in the unique inflection point between the transactional and relational to help partners pinpoint resources that correspond with their needs.

MIcrosoft Surface pro & PowerApps

A series of 1200 word case studies for Microsoft. Each study focused on a unique client who improved their business by using Microsoft PowerApps or Surface products.

First, an in-depth look at how the Kansas City Royals utilized Microsoft Surface to reinvent their talent evaluations and eventually win a World Series championship.

The other is a deep dive into the way a Pepsi distributor created a personalized and streamlined auditing system by using Microsoft PowerApps.

My role consisted of interviews, multiple rounds of edits to balance needs of different departments involved, social media content and landing page descriptors.

Sprint Be kevin durant for a day

Created, pitched and executed #BKD4aDay from Sprint, a sweepstakes spanning multiple social media sites involving Kevin Durant.

This social sweepstakes in order to drive registration. Kevin Durant was utilized as a source of engagement as well as the Grand Prize. This project required a thoughtful, strategic approach; from concept to execution to approval from the superstar's representatives.

Amazon Prime Benefit Launch

Introducing Amazon Prime Free Same-Day shipping. How quaint!

The Challenge: How do you work around the brand promise of Free Two-Day Shipping when Amazon continues to find new ways to get items to customers faster and faster? This campaign introduced Amazon’s first foray into solving this issue. We created scalable assets including online advertising, video and infographics that could be easily assembled as new metro areas added this service.

The great thing about great content? It’s versatile. This Instagram carousel repurposed a blog post for Whistle, the device worn on a pet's collar that monitors their daily activities, health trends, and location. Summarized mission accomplished.

IKIN is a Series A startup who created hardware that enables your phone to create hologram-like images. I was brought on to build the brand nomenclature around their hero product, the RYZ. This including naming hardware products and 1st Gen user terminology, developing taglines, creating a content style guide, collaborating with art directors for the quick start manual, developing app description copy.

One of the coolest projects I’ve ever been part of, yet I can’t show any work…yet. But I’d love to tell you about.

How do you build loyalty with Office 365 subscribers? Give them the expert insight, tools and tricks they need to become a better writer. The messaging for this content marketing approach focused on starting with social media and popovers within the Office platform, and leads to a blog post that included a four-minute video (available to view by request).

Amazon Homepage Takeover

A social media experiment on the world’s most valuable URL

“Marc, figure out how to put a bunch of social media posts of people saying great things about Prime on Amazon’s gateway homepage.”

What should it look like? What are the legal and creative limitations? Can you get buy-in from every team that could be effected by this? I was tasked with creating a brand affinity social media campaign, and integrating it into the retail-focused Amazon.com. All without a roadmap.

How we got there: we presented 5 concepts. This approach ranged from a look that is typically used—with minimal invasion to the shopping experience—to larger, bolder and more boastful looks that only barely stay within brand guidelines.

Results were successful. It caught the opinionated denizens of social media off-guard (in a good way), and free trial sign-ups experienced a positive bump. I consulted with global teams to ensure successful localized launches 4 weeks later.

Amazon Prime Copy

If the question is, “alexa, what is prime photos?” I wrote the answer.

As Prime continues to integrate into people’s lives with more benefits, creating a structure became an important way to keep everything under the Prime umbrella. The copy in this Prime branding project focused on creating copy in a scalable, universal language that can be used throughout Amazon’s ecosystem.
